This site is quickly becoming a scrapbook of my visits to museums, which is great. I've found a place to share my pictures, and if you care to, you get to see a selection of what I thought was best in show from exhibits you might never get to see.
I hadn't heard of Henrietta Berk before, though it feels like I should have. Her use of bold color for sweeping landscape and delicate posing and expressions of people is like nothing I have ever seen. I stood in front of the sunset on the beach painting several times, drawn into the glow, hearing the echos on the water, transfixed by the joyful squiggles, light and water dancing around the children. You'll see what I mean.
